As the Project Cost Controller, you will be part of a project execution team reporting directly to the Project Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of assigned projects from a cost perspective and in compliance with the projects reporting guidelines and procedures.

  • Track financial performance of projects according to project execution plans on a weekly, and monthly basis and to recommend actions when deviations from the budget is observed working closely with the Project Manager;
  • Ensure that the change management process between ASDR and the Client is maintained;
  • Lead the development of ETC and EAC for the project cost with the project team in compliance with the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS);
  • Ensure the control and support of Project Managers in their budget and forecast monitoring;
  • Produce monthly reports that reflect the PMO's Key Cost KPI’s;
  • Ensure that the project is carried out in accordance with the directives, policies, and procedures of the Client;
  • Works very closely with Accounting, Planning, and other disciplines for efficient and robust updating and reporting;
  • Prepares in coordination and collaboration with the project planner the cost reports including : Schedule Variance, Estimate to Complete, Estimate at Completion, Variance at Completion, Variance explanation;
  • Maintain an invoice Log/Register up to date.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • BAC or Technical diploma or equivalent training;
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Cost Controller in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of mining projects (+10M);
  • Industrial and Oil & Gas experience is an asset;
  • Experience with Project Cost Management systems;
  • Proven experience with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis;
  • Good exposure with project management methodology;
  • Good understanding of general business interfaces/process as related to procurement, engineering, operations, and accounting;
  • Proven leadership skills and abilities;
  • Able to understand and interpret contracts and subcontracts;
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule management;
  • Fully bilingual in French and English.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Job location: Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Laval or Malartic with working from home possibilities;
  • Flexible for travel;
  • 40 hours/week;
