Since he joined ASDR 3 years ago, Guy Saucier has played a key role as Director of Studies and Mining Projects. He is part of a solid team of engineers and managers who have contributed to the development of several mining projects in Quebec and internationally. With his diversified experience, he helped develop ASDR’s Project Management and Engineering division. He also participated in the growth of the Laval office, which today has more than 25 employees.
Mr. Saucier has nearly 40 years of experience in the fields of geology, mining, exploration, study management, and corporate development. Over the years, he has been involved in several major projects in gold, apatite, base metals, iron ore, bauxite, rare earth, and industrial minerals. He has worked for major mining clients around the world. These include projects such as:
- Feasibility study that led to the re-opening of the Casa Berardi mine (Aurizon Mines/Hecla Quebec)
- Feasibility study (Inmet Mining Corporation) for the Troilus mine, which led to the construction of one of the first open-pit gold mine in Quebec
Involved in the mining community, Mr. Saucier has participated for many years in the organization of the North American Iron Ore Symposium. This event is held every two years, alternating between Montreal, Quebec and Duluth, Minnesota.
