Mine Canadian Malartic Agnico eagle

Background

Meet the requirements set out in Directive 019 on mine effluent during excavation and operation work to expand Canadian Malartic Mine.

Key contaminants of concern: heavy metals (Fe, Zn, Pb, Ar, Cu, Ni) and suspended solids.

Work performed

ASDR designed, built, installed and started up a containerized modular water treatment plant consisting of six (6) modules (20-foot ISO containers) for this project: a caustic soda metering unit, a coagulant metering unit, a flocculant metering unit, two warehouses and an electrical room.

Performance and results

In operation since July 2018, ASDR’s wastewater treatment plant has met all environmental requirements for effluent discharges at an average operational flow rate of 420 m3/h.
